Come and join me for a needle felt workshop with a little of my signature mixed media textiles thrown into the mix! Make your own Little Critter on a plinth with a heart.
This class is to make your own needle felt little critter hare or fox (you can choose on the day, we do not all have to make the same) which can be adorned with a heart.
There is a lot of needle felting involved and some mixed media tricks to create a really unique piece.
In this class you will create a simple wire armature and use a range of needle felting techniques to add elements to you piece.
The finished animal will be approximately 18 cm in height and will then stand on a wooden plinth (or if you would like to bring your own plinth for the animal to stand on you may – it will need to be suitable to drill into!).
I will provide everything you need to make the critter, if you have not needle felted before it does not matter, I will talk you through the process step by step. All abilities are welcome and even the most experienced needle felter will I’m sure enjoy the day! You will end the day with a complete piece, however you are welcome to take home your needle, pad and any wool required for refining.
These little critters are an absolute joy to make and give you the opportunity to learn alternative techniques for attaching limbs to felt!
This class is for an in person workshop and is NOT a a PDF or online workshop – The studio is in Groby, Leicestershire UK and full address details will be provided on booking.
As with all my workshops they are designed to be relaxing and fun, we sit together around a large table working step by step, there are moments of quiet concentration but also lots of chatting and socialising. The art/craft community are a wonderful supportive bunch and we always have a lovely time.
refreshments and nibbles are provided and you are welcome to bring your own lunch. There is a local coffee shop, deli and Co-op approximately 5 minutes walk away
